What our customers say ...
"Just returned from our holiday. Thank
you for making all the arrangements, all went very well.
All hotels were great and in good locations. Good foliage
colours and only one wet day.
Having satnav was absolutely brilliant,
we used it all the time, well worth the extra cost. In
fact, we didn’t need to use any of the driving instructions
you kindly supplied, and on the trip to the Montebello
from Stowe where you have to cross the river at Montreal
it even took us across on a small car ferry rather than
a main road bridge. If you don’t already do so, would
suggest you recommend having satnav to all your customers.
Once again thank you for all your help and
for the notelet box awaiting our return. Wouldn’t
hesitate to use your services again."

Arrival
Boston
Depart London Heathrow – 1105
Arrive Boston – 1310
Journey Time – 7 hrs 05mins
On arrival we recommend that you DO NOT collect your car but rather take one of the metered cabs from the airport to you the Omni Parker House (your approx fare will be $25 - this is not included in your prepaid holiday cost). We recommend this as you will be tired and will only pay high fees to park the vehicle during your 3 days in the city. Of course if you do prefer to collect it on arrival or would like us to arrange private transportation for you to your hotel, this can be done for an additional cost.
In a city filled with interesting things to see and do, the Freedom
Trail is the highlight of Boston for visitors. The 2.5 mile red
brick walking trail leads you to 16 nationally significant historic
sites, every one an authentic American treasure. Preserved and
dedicated by the citizens of Boston in 1958, when the wrecking
ball threatened several important places, the Freedom Trail today
is a unique collection of museums, churches, meeting houses, burying
grounds, parks, a ship, and historic markers that tell the story
of the American Revolution.
You can take a self-guided tour or one of the many tours available
through the National Park Service. Tours begin every half hour
from the park visitor center at 15 State Street opposite the Old
State House. If you prefer to ride, you can take a trolley tour,
which is an unofficial guided tour, but does include many of the
most important sites along the Trail including Old Ironsides,
the Paul Revere House and the Old North Church. Plan to stop and
eat at Faneuil Hall, once the primary meeting place for America’s
revolutionaries It is now a bustling market of restaurants and
shops.
Overnight – Omni Parker House
Stay right on the Freedom Trail at the Omni Parker House, the longest continuously operated hotel in America that has become an internationally renowned classic. The rooftop ballroom showcases spectacular views of the city skyline.
|
| Day 2 |
Explore Boston
If you experienced the Freedom Trail yesterday, today a myriad of possibilities for exploring await. There are always a variety of exhibits at the Boston Museum of Science. Cheers, of the famous television show of the same name, is located on Beacon Hill. The Sam Adams Brewery is a recent addition, founded in 1984. The Boston Museum of Arts, founded in 1876, has an outstanding, world-renowned collection that includes some 450,000 items. The New England Aquarium offers special whale watching trips until October. There’s also the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, Newberry Street, with some of the best antiquing in America, and Cambridge, MA, home of Harvard University, right across the river.
Overnight – Omni Parker House
|
| Day 3 |
Explore Boston
Since there is so much to see and do in Boston, you may want to explore the city with a Go Boston Card in hand which provides admission to a whopping 33 attractions in Boston proper and many more in the region. In town the pass includes a Two-Day Beantown Trolley Tour Pass on the big red trolley that takes you all over town with 19 stops near more than 100 sites, Boston Duck Tours, New England Aquarium, Museum of Fine Arts, Liberty Fleet Tall Ships Adventure, Charles River Boat Tours, the Old North Church and more. A 3 day pass also includes admissions to the House of Seven Gables, Salem Witch Museum and the Salem Heritage Walk, all on your way to Maine tomorrow.
Overnight – Omni Parker House
|
| Day 4 |
Boston to Jackson, NH 195 miles
This morning, take a cab & collect your car rental from Boston airport location (cab fare is not included in your prepaid cost). Rather than just deadheading upto Jackson, NH from Boston, we suggest a scenic drive on the Essex National Heritage Area Scenic Byway which takes you north through Salem, site of the famous Witch trials in 1694 and then out along the rocky shoreline to see Gloucester & Rockport. Continue on up through Ipswich, and Newburyport. Farther north along larger Lake Winnipesaukee takes you through Moultonborough and on to Tamworth and Jackson. Jackson is one of the most attractive towns in all of New Hampshire.
Overnight – The Wentworth Hotel (Superior room – Main Inn)
For those looking to get away from it all it doesn’t get much better than the charming accommodations at the Wentworth Hotel, nestled deep in the heart of the New Hampshire White Mountains in the picturesque village of Jackson. To see the sun setting in these marvellous surroundings is a real treat. The food, accommodations and hospitality are spot on at this lovely property and it really does feel that all is being done to make you feel as comfortable, and at home, as possible. Full breakfast is included.
|
| Day 5 |
New Hampshire’s
White Mountains
It’s everything you’d expect in quintessential New
England. Cold, clear rushing streams reflect the deep lush greens
of summer and the blazing colors that set the hillsides on fire
in fall. Towering granite cliffs and soaring mountains hug both
sides of the road as you make your way along age old winding,
scenic routes, the woods that poet Robert Frost called, “lovely,
dark and deep.”
You can come here to escape all of mankind which most of the
residents do. Locals will assure you that you can have a vacation
away from the “citied” world in a place that has not
changed much in centuries. Many of the charming villages still
look as they did when writer Nathaniel Hawthorne and painter Thomas
Cole lived here in the 18th century. That’s the way they
like it, slow, easy and simple, leaving time to appreciate the
astounding scenic beauty all around.
There’s a great scenic loop to be explored today that includes the beautiful Kancamagus Highway, Mt. Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast, and scenic Route 16 which gets progressively more scenic as it heads north.
Overnight – Wentworth Hotel
|
| Day 6 |
Jackson to Stowe, VT 125 miles
Today we recommend an early start, so enjoy breakfast and then head for the hills… Mount Washington to be precise. Whilst in this spectacular area you must take time out to visit the grand & glorious ‘Mount Washington Hotel’. Wander through the recently restored public areas in and out where presidents, poets & celebrities have enjoyed over the years. Then it’s back on the road, off along more beautiful scenic byways as you head to the Vermont Green Mountains. Nearly 70 years after the von Trapp family resettled in Stowe, from Austria, “the hills are still alive with the sound of music!” On your way there, you’ll enjoy the classic New England landscape and architecture - a mountain ridgeline, a winding river, hillside farms, covered bridges, and quaint villages bathed in bright sunshine and set up against mountains as old as time…and, of course, there’s Ben and Jerry’s ice cream factory. Located in the
centre of town, the Green Mountain Inn, your lodging for this evening, is the focal point of historic Stowe Village.
Overnight – Green Mountain Inn
Location, location, location. The Green Mountain Inn has occupied the best place in Stowe, Vermont since 1833. A massive restoration was undertaken in 1983 by the Gameroff Trust to honor the 150th birthday of the building. Since then the building has been lovingly maintained and upgraded. Continental buffet breakfast is included. Choose from a selection of fresh baked muffins, pastries, croissants & the Green Mountain Inn’s signature honey oatmeal bread, cereals and more.
|
| Day 7 |
Vermont’s Green
Mountains
Today is a chance to kick back & enjoy a full day in Stowe. You’ll soon discover why this is a village that travellers want to return to again and again. Known as a fabulous ski resort, Stowe is much more than that – with its picture postcard New England landscape, the Village of Stowe features many unique shops and a variety of dining venues. Enjoy your day in beautiful Stowe – New England at its finest!
Overnight - Green Mountain Inn
|
| Day 8 |
Stowe, VT to Montreal, QC 130 miles
Today, the drive between Stowe and Montreal is approx 130 miles, leaving you plenty of time for exploring once you arrive. Leaving Stowe, head south on scenic Vermont State Road 100, then west on I-89 & eventually taking Exit 17 onto The Lake Champlain Scenic Byway which takes you north on a narrow strait of land in the center of Lake Champlain. The City of Montreal is the undisputed capital of French Canada. The area has been occupied by North American Indian tribes for some 8,000 years before Jacques Cartier became the first European to reach the area in 1535. A mission named Ville Marie was built in 1642 as part of a project to create a French colonial empire in Canada. It became the center for fur trading and French expansion into then, New France, until 1760 when it was surrendered to the British army. Montreal was finally incorporated as a city in 1832, 300 years after its first exploration.
Overnight - Omni Mont Royal
|
| Day 9 |
Explore Montreal
You can explore Old Montreal by horse-drawn carriage or bicycle or stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets in the old city. Once a fortified city, the old town is now a safe and vibrant jewel nestled along the St. Lawrence River. On the flip side, even if you’re not the gambling type, the Montreal Casino is a sight to behold; an extravaganza of adult fun and entertainment built inside the pavilions of France for Expo ’67. You can see the best view of Montreal from the summit of Mount Royal.
Overnight - Omni Mont Royal
|
| Day 10 |
Montreal to Ottawa, ON 125 miles
Again, your drive today is only 125 miles, leaving plenty of time for exploring in Ottawa. Ottawa became the Canadian capital when Queen Victoria settled a dispute between several cities seeking the honor. The city’s ornate “high Victorian” Gothic Revival Parliament buildings that went under construction shortly afterward, and have been rebuilt several times afterward, stand proudly as a tribute to the queen. Thought by many to be one of the most beautiful capital cities in the world, Ottawa undertook a massive clean-up, park building and greenspace program in 1899 that has virtually continued until today.
Overnight - Crowne Plaza Ottawa Hotel
|
| Day 11 |
Explore Ottawa
Besides the magnificent buildings on Parliament Hill, attractions in Ottawa include the Canadian Museum of Civilization, which traces Canadian history from the Vikings to the present day and the Rideau Canal, that was the first target of cleanup in 1899 and now is a haven for boaters in the summer and the world’s longest skating rink in winter. The National Gallery of Canada, which is home to the world’s largest collection of Canadian art, as well as excellent collections of European and American works. Try shopping at the Sparks Street Mall and Rideau Center and your luck at the Casino Du Lac-Leamy.
Overnight - Crowne Plaza Ottawa Hotel
|
| Day 12 |
Ottawa, ON to Niagara Falls 353 miles
The drive from Ottawa to Niagara Falls is considerable, yet we know you'll agree that it was worth it once you’ve experienced the thunder and roar of six million cubic feet of water falling over Niagara Falls every minute. The Falls have been thrilling visitors since 1820. Sam Patch, The Yankee Leaper, began the long tradition of daredevils trying to go over the Falls in 1829. Visitors have enjoyed the view in the whirlpools beneath the Falls on the Maid of the Mist since 1846. Join the millions of travelers who every year are awed by the sights and sounds of magnificent Niagara Falls and don’t miss the illumination at night!
Overnight – Oakes Fallsview Hotel (Fallsview room)
|
| Day 13 |
Niagara Falls to Toronto, ON 80 miles
Savor one last look at Niagara Falls before leaving for Toronto. Indigenous peoples had lived in the Toronto region for almost 11,000 years before the first Europeans arrived in the 17th century. In 1787, whole area was purchased from the Mississaugas Indians. In 1793, Governor John Graves Simcoe named the settlement ‘York' and moved the provincial capital here from the vulnerable border village of Niagara. That backwoods village grew to become the “City of Toronto” in 1834. After those humble beginnings, Toronto is today the largest city in Canada. It is the hub of the nation's commercial, financial, industrial, and cultural life, the capital of the Province of Ontario and one of the most liveable and multicultural urban places in the world. Enjoy your visit to this sophisticated and urbane place.
Overnight – Hotel Le Germain
|
| Day 14 |
Explore Toronto
Those who enjoy the British Museum may want to visit the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto with more than 40 galleries of art, archeology and natural science. The museum features one of the finest collections of artifacts from China, a six foot tall totem pole and more. The Eaton Centre is a bright and airy shopping mall in the heart of Toronto’s downtown. At 1,815 feet, the CN Tower is the tallest free standing structure in the world. The glass elevator runs up 1,122 feet to an observation tower. History buffs will love Casa Loma. Built by a wealthy Toronto businessman in the early 1900s. The structure resembles Heart’s Castle in California and proudly overlooks the city. Nature lovers can find peace and quiet on Toronto Island, a short ferry ride away from downtown. The series of small islands is the largest urban car-free community in North America.
Overnight – Hotel Le Germain
